Latina Democrat Loretta Sanchez, who represents California's 47th Congressional District in the United States Congress, will conclude a busy weekend in the Treasure Valley with an appearance before Idaho Democratic women at the Idaho Democratic Women's Caucus (IDWC) annual brunch on Sunday, February 19, at 9:00 am in the Owyhee Plaza Hotel in Boise.

Congresswoman Sanchez won her seat in Congress in 1996 by just 984 votes against a longtime Republican incumbent, on the strength of support from Hispanics and blue collar workers.  She became the first Latina to represent an Orange County based district and has not faced serious opposition since.

Congresswoman Sanchez is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Blue Dog Democrats, New Democratic Coalition, and Congressional Human Rights Caucus.  In December 2005, she helped kick off the Hispanic Caucus Institute's 2005 Public Policy Institute in Washington DC, and hosted a Banking and Finance Summit with financial experts who discussed credit scoring and access to credit.  Both are issues important to Latinos.

For tickets, please send $15 per ticket to IDWC at PO Box 693, Boise, ID, 83701.
